ARCH: ID 2020 is an Indonesia Architecture Conference and Exhibition that was held at Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) BSD City. The event is one of the most highlighted in the Architecture and Construction industry with over 10,000 professionals including architects, designers, engineers, urban planners, project owners, government institutions, property developers, academicians, students, and other related stakeholders. ARCH: ID 2020 became a place to showcase the latest design, technology, ideas, and concepts that could attract opportunities and improve the development of the industry.

MM Galleri worked together with Willis Kusuma Architects to create one of the best exhibitions in the events,The Black Box: Threshold. The concept of the exhibition was about coming into the unknown and to be confident to walk through it. The exhibition had a size ± 262.00 sqm that features a marble tunnel with lighting and special ceiling lamps made out of Onyx Volcano Red. The tunnel was made out of multiple thick slabs of Autumn Grey marbles with subtle lighting from both sides. Visitors who walked through the tunnels would feel a chill and only be guided by the light from the side and roofs.

Upon reaching the end of the tunnel, they would be able to view the special lamp known as the “Claw”. Using the innovative and cutting-edge technology of bended marble technique, MM Galleri was able to create a one-of-a-kind art piece that became the highlight of the exhibitions. The “Claw” was made from thinly-sliced Onyx Volcano Red that was able to bend and form into a claw shape. As the material is thin enough, this allowed MM Galleri to add a lighting unit into the lamp, making it functional.

The creative direction of both MM Galleri and Willis Kusuma Architects was able to attract the attention of big companies and designers. All in all, the exhibition was a unique experience and successful for MM Galleri.
